A man from New York has decried to file a class-action lawsuit in opposition to Apple on Dec. 24, alleging that the Apple Watch's blood oximeter has a "racial bias" towards people with darker skin tones.
There is a blood oxygen app that you can access on an Apple Watch Series 6 and current and it claims to "measure the oxygen level of your blood on-demand directly from your wrist, providing you with insights into your overall wellness," according to Apple.
The resident from New York; Alex Morales, claims that he bought an Apple Watch between the years 2020 and 2021, and knew that the watch "purported to measure blood oxygen levels to which he believed it did this besides regard to the color of someones skin," in accordance to the lawsuit, which has been filed in the Southern District of New York.
