Apple Watch Fall Detection

Posted by Sophia Williams on

People aged 65 and older are more at risk for falling and injuring themselves greatly. Apples fall detection feature can help these people. While this feature cannot prevent them from falling, it can send out alerts to their medical personnel with the push of a button. This is for people who have fallen and are unable to get back up or reach their phone to call someone for help. The watch may detect a fall even if you haven't actually fallen down, so it require further action to send out an alert. The watch will buzz and show you the alert it detected so that you may connect to your emergency contact. If you did not fall down, you would dismiss the alert by clicking the "I'm ok" button or clicking the digital crown. If you do not like this feature or it has no use for you, then you can always disable it in your settings.
